Q: TELL ME ABOUT THE BIG EXO DAY?
THE BIG EXO DAY IS...
A one day youth festival that ends with an epic night concert and aims not just to entertain, but to bring a message of encouragement to young people; that no matter what you might be dealing with in life and no matter how hard things might be, life can still be EXO (excellent), and you can fulfil your dreams and achieve awesome and unheard of things. The Big Exo Day is open to all ages and is strictly drug and alcohol free- we want to offer a safe environment where young people can have fun and let loose.
Every young person wants to have an experience. An experience of something new. Something they've never done before. A feeling they've never felt. A place they've never been... an experience that will change them and define their future...
The Big Exo Day is one day, one event with thousands of young people in one place. The ultimate combination of music, atmosphere, celebration and creativity... Whatever you're into- be it hardcore, electro, dance, hip-hop & urban, indie, folk... whether you're into rides, extreme sport and skate, visual & performing arts, engaging in social justice & action, or simply enjoying a great day with your mates, we know that Big Exo Day will be the experience of a life-time.
It all started when...
The first School Exo was held at Baulkham Hills High School in 1998. The event was thought of, planned and executed within 2 weeks. Between 600 and 800 students and teachers attended the event, everything was paid for: all prizes, food, promotional material, show bags and entertainment. Students were given a free lunch and heard the message that life can be excellent.
The Big Exo Day launched in late 2002, where Youth Ministries across the State got together at Australia's Wonderland to celebrate and tell their mates that life is EXO on a far bigger scale! This event was the kick-off to what has been an awesome adventure so far. In 2003, we held our event at the Sydney International Tennis Centre, which was an amazing venue and a great stepping stone for growth. By 2004 the event had doubled in size, and by 2006 we were forced to move to the ACER Arena. After this we moved to Sydney Showground for some of our highlight years with Switchfoot, Ivoryline, Lecrae, Relient K and Evermore to name just a few guests. Seeing explosive growth and an ever faithful following, we knew we were onto something special. And now in its tenth year we are excited about hosting Exo Day for the first time at Parramatta Park. Its can only get better from here!
