A MESSAGE FROM SANGA:

SHOWING LOVE FOR YOUR SCHOOL IN 2012...

We believe that our greatest asset is the future generation of leaders who can be found in high schools all over NSW. Throughout this next year we are looking at developing our already successful School Exo Days into something with a much greater scope of impact to reach even more students and schools than ever before!

It is from this place that we have created a new project which will focus on five ways students can love their school practically and promote the Big Exo Day:

INFLUENCE // run a student led event

We totally believe that students reach students, and you can be a hero in your school. I know from experience that running a School Exo Day always bought a positive vide to the entire school and provided an opportunity for potential leaders to rise up to the challenge. It was run by the students, for the students. And this isn’t just limited to running a school exo day, it could mean hosting a free morning breakfast or making pancakes every Friday or running a lunch time group.

ACTION // practical acts of kindness

I’ve learnt that sometimes it’s the small things that have the greatest impact. Imagine gathering up a few students who love their school and seeing how you can love your school.  This could look like writing encouraging notes to your teachers and putting them in their pigeon hole or volunteering in the canteen or cleaning the playground at lunchtime. Anything is possible!

UNITE // one combined prayer gathering

It’s a powerful statement when many gather together for one cause. That’s why we want to unite as many students as possible on Wednesday 1st August to pray. Students all over NSW are encouraged to get together and pray for their school, students, teachers, community and the Big Exo Day.

NETWORK // social media and the web

This is all about getting connected with other like minded students online. We want to provide a place for students to share their stories, upload their photos/videos, tell us some new ideas etc. It is often in the most unlikely places where you find those individuals who are changing the world. Imagine a few young people dreaming together to change their world one school at a time. Become part of the conversation HERE>> and HERE>>

INSPIRE // school seminars with guests speakers/bands

It’s amazing how just one experience can inspire a young person to change the world. We have gathered some of the best school communicators and bands from around Australia and the world so that you can provide an experience in your school. It might not just be for an event, it could be for a school camp or year group meeting or even for the teachers! We just know that it is sure to inspire.

So how do I get involved you might be asking? Simple – register your school online, download the Schools Student Manual 2012 (will be up in the next week), like us on Facebook, start posting your ideas, and let the dreaming begin! Together we can make a change and this year YOU can be the one that starts it. Become part of the conversation HERE>> and HERE>>

So why not start thinking about how you can show some love to your school throughout the next few months on the lead up to The Big Exo Day and be a part of the revolution!

Love.
