Misfit Shapes

MISFIT SHAPES was born out of the epicenter of Australian surfboard design, Sydney’s Northern Beaches, by founder/ shaper Dave Howell in 2002. Beginning his shaping career under the watchful eye of master craftsman Col Ladhams, Dave quickly established Misfit as an innovative surfboard label for progressive surfers.

Shaping for the likes of 2001 world champion CJ Hobgood and his brother Damien, as well as an array of other elite WQS (World Qualifying Series) and pro junior surfers, Misfit continues to push the boundaries of surfboard design through technical research and development, design ingenuity and an integrity for creative excellence.

At the big exo day 2009 Dave will be handshaping surfboards live!! You don't need to be a surfer to appreciate the craftsmanship in making a surfboard from scratch. Look out for the tent in the extreme zone.
